We’ve just begun!

We are the Dalhousie student chapter of the Canadian Association of Professional Academic Librarians (Dal CAPAL). This is an exciting time to get involved! As a brand new student association at Dalhousie’s School of Information Management (SIM), every member has the opportunity to influence the future of this student chapter.

Our goals for the forthcoming academic year are:

  1. To form an association at least 5 members strong, and be ratified by the parent organization (we currently have four students!)
  2. To organize workshops where students can develop valuable, practical skills to be used in the workplace.
  3. To provide opportunities for students to network with current academic librarians.
  4. To investigate advocacy issues pertinent to the field of academic librarianship, and choose issues to support.

We hope that you will join us in working towards the achievement of these goals. We welcome all SIM students who are interested in learning more about the field of academic librarianship to get involved! Contact us at: dalhousie.capal@gmail.com
