Final Dal CAPAL Meeting for the Term
Time has flown by! Dal CAPAL will be having its last meeting of the term tomorrow April 6th.
We will also be voting in new members for positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Web and Communications Chair, and Treasurer and Outreach Chair. If you are interested in one of these positions, please prepare a statement of interest for the meeting.
Upcoming Academic Library Tours!
What: For the new year, Dalhousie CAPAL Student Chapter has been working on arranging tours of academic libraries. Below are the following tour arrangements and dates.
Mount Saint Vincent University: Thursday February 25th at 12:30pm
Atlantic School of Theology Library: Tuesday March 8th at 11am
This is a great opportunity to visit nearby academic libraries and gain insight into the role of the academic library at various institutions.
Citation Management Workshop: Zotero and Mendeley
What: This workshop will cover two free citation management tools, Zotero and Mendeley. As future academic librarians we may encounter patrons who would like to use software other than Refworks, or work in an institution that promotes Zotero or Mendeley. The workshop will be conducted by Dal CAPAL members, Tess Grynoch and Chantel Ridsdale.
If participants would like to follow along during the workshop, we encourage them to download both citation management tools onto their personal computer beforehand.

Round Table on Academic Library Opportunities
What: Come chat with those who have worked as interns and/or other positions at academic libraries.
When: Thursday September 24th, 2015 from 12 – 2pm
Where: Just Us! Coffee shop on Spring Garden Road
Why: Learn about the opportunities available to work in and around Halifax! Gain insight and information about their opportunities and experiences at library institutions including the Dalhousie Libraries and Saint Mary’s University.
